Fix a Deployment Stuck Pulling Its Image

The wishlist Deployment in the inventory namespace was updated this morning and none of its Pods have become ready since. The team wants it serving again on the nginx 1.27 image.

Task

  • Every replica of Deployment wishlist in namespace inventory is available.
  • Its container runs the image nginx:1.27.
  • Keep the Deployment's name, labels and replica count (3) as they are.

A practice cluster is running on this machine: start with kubectl get pods -n inventory.

About this machine

Ubuntu 24.04 with a private practice cluster: a real Kubernetes API server, scheduler and controllers, and three nodes (controlplane, node01, node02). Containers are simulated, so images never download and kubectl logs/exec are not available. k is an alias for kubectl, with completion. The grader checks the cluster's final state, not the commands you typed.
