Render a Config with templatefile

medium 20 XP ~8 minHands-on lab

This machine has OpenTofu, the open-source tool that reads the same configuration language as Terraform. Run it as tofu (terraform runs the same program). There is no network: the local, random and null providers are already installed.

/home/student/infra/relay must generate the proxy config /home/student/out/relay.ini from the template proxy.ini.tftpl, which is already written.

Task

  • Add a local_file that renders proxy.ini.tftpl with templatefile(), passing:
    • name = "relay"
    • backends = the list ["10.0.1.10:8080", "10.0.1.11:8080", "10.0.1.12:8080"]
    • labels_json = the JSON encoding of the map { team = "platform", tier = "edge" }
  • Apply, so the rendered file matches the template exactly with those values.
