Deploying the new version of syncd fails: /srv/lab/bin/syncd-start exits with OSError: [Errno 98] Address already in use on port 8454. An old copy is still running, but nobody knows its PID.

Task

  • Stop the process that holds port 8454.
  • Start the new version with /srv/lab/bin/syncd-start, so that http://127.0.0.1:8454/ answers syncd v2.
  • The unrelated syncd-metrics process must keep running.
